“My dear People…I shall not keep you long. I don’t know half of you as well as I should like; and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve, but I have called you all together for a purpose. I wish to make an announcement.”

To any of you who recognize where that quote (if you could call it that anymore) came from, I sincerely apologize for doing to it what I just did. For those of you who don’t recognize it, it’s a very chopped up and rearranged version of what Bilbo said in his Farewell Speech. And to anyone who still does not know what I’m talking about, all of that is from The Lord of the Rings, a trilogy that you should go read or, at the least, watch the movies of. But on to the purpose of my writing this, my announcement.

My announcement is that today I’m officially launching my latest photographic endeavor I call Intergalactic Photographic: Photography and Other Adventures by Matt Kaiser (that’s me!). If you’ve got a moment, I’d like to introduce it to all of you.

Intergalactic Photographic is the name of this website/my photography business. My goal with creating this website is to focus my photographic efforts online and create a kind of central nexus for it all.

What does that mean? Well, it means I wanted a dedicated place that I could post my photos to and share them from. Now I have a way to sell prints of those photos too. The site is also a place that allows me to share my thoughts in regards to Photolandia (aka the world of photography) and my adventures and experiences as I travel through it. That is, of course, if you’re willing to listen to them.

When visiting, one can expect to find all sorts of magical things…like the secret to flying.

Ok, so maybe I’m exaggerating a little bit. But if I do ever learn the secret on how to fly, I’ll be sure to share it with you! There are, however, a couple of more realistic things that you can expect upon a visit to my site here. First, and perhaps most obvious, is photos. Being a photography-centric website, it’s only natural that they take the spotlight. On the front page is a small collection of my images that I’m currently featuring and will swap about when I feel the need. Think of it as a hello wave when you arrive at the site and me with a sign saying, “Take a look at these, I think you’ll enjoy them.”

The second thing you can expect to find are my blog posts. I aim to publish at least one post a week on Thursdays, but I might do more than that in a week if there’s something I really want to share and it just can’t wait. We’ll see what happens when we get there, but the posts will be about pretty much anything photo related. The story behind a photo, updates on projects I’m working on, some cool photography trick I found, and all sorts of shenanigans involving photography are fair game for topics. Regardless of what specifically I’m writing about, I promise I’ll do my best to keep it all interesting. This first week of launch is probably going to be busier than the (anticipated) norm anyway, with quite a bit of sharing and whatnot while I bring all the systems online, so to speak.

In an effort to keep this introduction somewhat reasonable in length and from becoming rather dry, I’m going to simply direct you to the About Matt page if you want to read some more about this site and myself. If you’re so inclined, you can connect with me on Google+ and Facebook (possibly more social profiles later on down the road). My plan for any social media profiles is to share a mix of my content and, perhaps more so, content from others. Sometimes there’s really neat things I find but I don’t think would need a whole blog post of their own, so that’s where I’ll share them. This seems like it’ll fit with most people’s consumption habits on social media anyways.

Lastly, I would ask you consider signing up for my newsletter to get occasional updates delivered right to your inbox (it’s really easy!). I promise I’m not going to spam you or anything like that; probably just an email or two every month. To celebrate the launch, I’m including a special discount code for anyone who signs up now. The code will get you 15% off any photos from the The Observation Deck Photo Gallery that you really like and want to order a print of.* This is a limited time thing though, so be sure to sign up soon if you’re interested!

All you need do to sign up is put in your email address below, then check your inbox in a minute or two.

That’s all for now; I just wanted to get acquainted and let you know what to expect to see in the future. I do hope you’ll visit again, and if you’d like to chat just drop me an email or get in touch with me on Google+ or Facebook.

Talk to you again soon,
Matt Kaiser

*Note: Unfortunately, there are some photos I’m not able to offer for sale. These are the ones that have no products available for purchase when you add them to your cart. My sincerest apologies for this.
